The barangay kagawad (councilmen) in this town held a general assembly aiming to empower all barangays here and improve camaraderie among them. First District Congresswoman Geraldine Roman joined the assembly. Board Member Benjie Serrano and Mayor Aida Macalinao also attended the event.
The board member took the opportunity to profusely thank Samal barangay councilmen for helping him in the last election. Serrano garnered the highest percentage of votes among elected board members in the two districts making him the senior board member.
The board member also announced that he will conduct “Handog Pasasalamat Libreng Gamutan”, a medical and dental mission and eyeglass distribution activity to benefit Samal folks on Nov.10, 2019 at Samal North Elementary School.
He said the activity is in cooperation with Macalinao, Sangguniang Bayan headed by Vice Mayor Jun Espino, and the Samal league of barangay captains and barangay kagawad.
