BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) led by Vice Governor Cris Garcia is backing a disaster-ready province of Bataan.

“We should always be ready when disasters come as what Gov. Abet Garcia has been saying”, the vice governor said during the concurring of the appointment of new Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Officer Josefina Timoteo on Monday regular session at Bataan Public Library.

“Bataan must be resilient”, the vice governor pointed out.

Members of SP were impressed with the background and experience of Timoteo, that they unanimously concurred the appointment of the latter.

Prior to her new post, Timoteo was Director of Administrative and Financial Management Service and OCD Region 3 Director.

Timoteo, in responding to the query of Board Member Jovy Banzon, said she is a native of Bulacan but currently rents a house in Balanga City to be able to quickly respond to the call of her duties.

The SP also passed on Monday two resolutions concerning provincial disaster risk reduction management plan.
