SP vows continued partnership with government agencies

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) through the leadership of Vice Gov. Cris Garcia vowed continued partnership with other government agencies in sync with the thrust of Gov. Abet Garcia.

“We want continued partnership with government agencies in the province like the BJMP”, the vice governor told Bataan District Jail Warden for male inmates Jail Superintendent Andrew Tauli and Jail Warden for female inmates Jail Senior Inspector Janice Bernardo who paid a courtesy visit to the provincial board during the latter’s recent regular session at the Bataan Public Library, capitol compound.

“The provincial government led by our governor fully backs BJMP for the improved condition of inmates inside the district jail”, she said.

“The new Bataan District Jail being constructed at the back of 1Bataan Command Center in Orani funded by the provincial government is targeted to be finished this year”, she told jail officials.

Some members of the SP also took the opportunity to raise concern on strict checking of jail visitors.

Tauli assured that they are doing their best not to violate the rights of visitors. He also said he constantly reminds his subordinates to be careful especially to female visitors, and that he would not tolerate wrongdoings.

He said only female BJMP personnel check female visitors.

 “Our very purpose for the strict procedure is for the welfare of our inmates”, the BJMP official told SP members.

Tauli profusely thanked the provincial government and the SP for the support to Bataan District Jail.

Board Member Rey Ibe who is the SP chairman of the Committee on Justice paved the way for the courtesy visit of the two BJMP officials.

“We would like to thank all of you here at SP for warmly welcoming us in your session”, said Tauli.
