Strong family ties ignite community growth

ABUCAY, Bataan – Former Abucay town Mayor Ana D. Santiago underscored the importance  of a cohesive  family circle as an ingredient to achieve success and posterity in the community.

Engineer Ernesto S. Vergara, Abucay municipal administrator and planning and development officer, explained that the nine years of dynamic and productive public service rendered by Mrs. Santiago focused on the upliftment of the quality of life of the 40,000 residents of the oldest town in Bataan.

He emphasized that the former lady town executive’s socio-economic development programs were centered on the improvement of public schools facilities and libraries, technical skills training and entrepreneurial services, health, job opportunities and other social amelioration services.

Engineer Vergara said Mrs. Santiago, a former teacher of the Bataan National School of Arts and Trades (BANSAT) and currently the top corporate manager of a family-owned brokerage firm operating in Metro Manila, successfully introduced a domestic-based social progressive scheme which strengthens the family relation into a workable team, turning priorities into specific advantages that lead to concrete outcomes.

During the terms of Mrs. Santiago, two prestigious academic institutions were established in Abucay; the Kalayaan College and the Colegio de San Juan de Letran, producing topnotch professionals who are now gainfully employed in private and public entities, Vergara added.
