A P4.9 BILLION PROJECT FUNDED BY SPANISH GOVT RDC oks funds for bridge construction in Bataan, Zambales, Aurora

   The Regional Development Council (RDC) approved the construction of three bridges in Central Luzon under the Bridge Construction/Replacement Project of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), that will be financed by the Spanish government.

   The approval of the fund came after the DPWH through Director Antonio Molano recommended the construction and renovation of the dilapidated Samal bridge in Bataan;  Sindol Bridge in San Felipe, Zambales; Langawan Bridge in Dingalan, Aurora.

50 women finish PSWDO livelihood course

   Balanga City — Fifty members of various women’s organizations in the province recently graduated from a livelihood training course conducted by the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office here. Mrs. Marilyn Tigas, Head of the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), told Headline Gitnang Luzon that the week-long livelihood training on basic cosmetology dubbed as “Ganda Mo, Hanapbuhay Ko” from April 21-25, 2014 was conducted at the PSWDO Conference Room.  Members of the Kalipunan ng Liping Pilipina, Kabalikat and Pantawid ng Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) were among the participants of the training.

Ganda Mo, Hanapbuhay Ko DSWD-Bataan conducts livelihood training on basic cosmetology

      The Provincial Government of Bataan thru the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Mrs. Marilyn C. Tigas conducted a weeklong Livelihood Training on Basic Cosmetology entitled “Ganda Mo, Hanapbuhay Ko” last April 21-25, 2014 at the PSWDO Conference Room. The training was co-sponsored by the Ang-Hortaleza Foundation, Inc. and Splash Corporation.  The Provincial Government provided the transportation allowance of the participants and their models to ensure that they will finish the weeklong training.  The participants were trained on basic haircutting, hair coloring, perming, hot oil, manicure and pedicure by the training team of Ang-Hortaleza Foundation.

TO EASE HEAVILY CONGESTED BATAAN JAIL Bataan supports Drilon’s call for more prosecutors

   CAPTIOL, Bataan- To help ease the heavily-congested Bataan Provincial Jail, local leaders and newsmen here supported yesterday the call of Senate President Franklin M. Drilon to hire more prosecutors.

   Ben Medina, Public Relations Officer of the Provincial Capitol and publisher of the Bataan Today, welcomed the proposal of Sen Drilon to hire more prosecutors, saying this is timely to give justice to the inmates whose cases have been dragging for years due to lack of prosecutors and judges to hear their cases.
