BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In an effort to further the leadership skills of the Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children (PCWC) member agencies, the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO) conducted a seminar on Team Management and Organizational Development at Lou-is Restaurant on Wednesday.
Resource speaker Dr. Homer A. Tacubanza tackled Goal Setting and Building Effective Leadership Skills, focusing on how to work efficiently and effectively while creating leadership legacy.
He emphasized that a leader should be responsible for setting chapter and individual goals, and work with his team members for them to develop their individual goals.
He also discussed the kinds of goals such as critical, accomplished in order for your chapter to continue running, solutions-oriented, goals that create a more desirable condition or take advantage of an opportunity, and nice to have, goals that relate to making activities faster or easier.
Participants worked together in an activity where they were tasked to list their goals and what they can contribute for the welfare of the council.
“Ang concern kasi namin ngayon in the advent of improvement of technology is ano ‘yung mga problem na nae-encounter ng mga bata at ano ‘yung mga solusyon na pwede nating magawa as part ng council,” said Dr. Tacubanza in an interview.
PSWDO, being a department that prioritizes children, women, senior citizens, and PWD’s, administered this seminar in line with the development of children protection.
