“…the best that you can become”- PWU

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Since its founding in 1919, the Philippine Women’s University has remained true to its mission-an enduring, nurturing faith community rooted in spirituality which develops transformative leadership to meet national and global challenges, and continuing leadership in women’s education.

In keeping abreast with the changing times, PWU has opened its doors to men as well. To date, thousands of successful career men and women honed the PWU tradition are in our midst, continuing to make their own mark in their chosen profession, contributing to make our society a better place to live in.

In 1978, The Philippine Women’s University Career Development and Continuing Education Center (CDCEC) was established in response to the need for trained skilled workers particularly in business, tourism, and food industries. It is also committed to the re-training and upgrading of skills of professionals and semi-professionals in the field.

In 2002, the PWU- CDCEC Bataan was born, with about a hundred enrollees in the hospitality industry, practical nursing, care giving and computer related courses. To date, PWU Bataan continues its steady growth in terms of enrolment and in course offerings. In 2008, it was given CHED approval to offer degree courses in Hotel & Restaurant Management, Tourism Management, Information Technology and Office Administration.

With a power house team composed of Ms. Ana Liza Danan at the helm as School Director; Ms. Yolly Gonzales, the Academic Head; Mr. Jayson Cayanan, the Marketing Head; Mrs. Jazell Cañas at the Registrar’s Office; Mrs. Myra Somo at the Accounting Office to name a few, one can be assured that PWU, indeed is the place where you can be the best that you can become.
