There is joy in winning, but there’s more in sharing

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Directories Philippines Corporation – Philippine Long Distance Telephone (DPC-PLDT) this morning, conducted an Orientation regarding their 29th Visual Arts Competition at the Bataan Tourism Center, this City.

With “Past Meets Present” as this year’s theme, the competition is open to all officially enrolled students in accredited public and private schools nationwide, who are between 15 to 24 years of age.

On behalf of Arch. Techie Banzon, head of the Bataan Tourism Center, Ms. Danica Tigas warmly welcomed the contest organizers, headed by Mr. Ruben Tangco, Project head and Ms. Rachel Gutierrez, Project Officer.

Some of the schools who attended the Orientation are: the Academy of Queen Mary (AQM-Orani), Balanga Elementary School, Bataan National High School (BNHS), Bataan Peninsula State University(BPSU), Cataning Elementary School, Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific(MAAP), Mariveles National Hig School-Cabcaben, Our Lady of Lourdes Elementary School, Pablo Roman National High School, Philippine Women’s University (PWU-CDCEC-Bataan), St. Catherine of Siena Academy (SCSA), and Tenejero Elementary School.

Highlighting this morning’s event was the presence of last year’s DPC-PLDT VAC winner, Elizalde Zambra, a native of Iloilo but a student of MAAP. In his short talk, he said that though it was his first time to join the said competition, he got the grand prize. What really moved the audience was when he said that he shared his prize with other children.

After discussing the mechanics of the contest, tokens of appreciation were distributed to the attendees.
