Tourist spots identified in some parts of Bataan

Some possible prospects for tourism sites were already being gradually identified for development, according to Provincial Tourism Officer Ms. Alice D. Pizarro.

In an interview during the tourism job fair, the former Pilar town mayor said her office had already identified some municipalities where a prospective tourism site could be developed in the coming years. The said site has yet to be identified pending some requirements more particularly the funding and development process.

Pizarro said Bataan province is rich with historical and heritage sites other than the Mt. Samat Shrine that could be developed into attractive spots. “We have many falls located in our mountains with verdant forest still unexplored,” said Pizarro.
As to the number of tourist arrivals in particular tourist spot, Pizarro said she would encourage concerned tourism officer in any municipality to document tourism-related activities in their area for particular recording purposes.
Board Member Romano del Rosario who hails from Batac town said Bataan has a number of tourist attractions like religious and heritage sites, native products that will attract foreign and local tourists. “We only have to develop and promote them,” said Del Rosario.
Various government agencies and private entities joined the September 26, 2019 “Tourism Job Fair and Travel Mart” to highlight the celebration of tourism month.
