MARIVELES, Bataan – A joint view deck tourism project of the Bataan Tourism Council Foundation Incorporated (BTFI) and Mariveles Tourism Office is now being constructed in the picturesque coastal sitio of Barangay Sisiman, this town.
Barangay Chairman Maximo Barcena of Sisiman here revealed that BTFCI chair Mrs. Vicky S. Garcia and Mrs. Cleotilde Concepcion, local tourism council head and wife of former Mariveles Mayor Jesse Concepcion, have selected the proposed view deck as an ideally accessible site facing the West Philippine Sea and historic Corregidor Island.
After closer analysis of tourism prospective of the new travelers’ haven and assessment of historical linkages of the site adjacent to centuries old lighthouse, Barcena illustrated the view deck project would become another attractive spot for Mariveles, the fast developing industrial and investment hub in Central Luzon.
Barcena added that the view deck with an area of 500 square meter of public land is situated along the zigzag road of Sitio Bato-Bato, Sisiman and reportedly a perfect site for another innovative tourism project.
The barangay chair said the provincial and municipal tourism councils are inclined to put up a P1.4 million zipline to duplicate the recreational landmark of the popular attraction in a resort located in the forested section of Mount Samat.
