BALANGA CITY, Bataan – As part of the celebration of NFA’s 45th Anniversary, NFA- Bataan personnel, headed by Provincial Manager, Adelaida C. Nuestro, organized a series of Ugnayan activities with farmer groups and individual farmers in the barangay levels of the province.
To ensure continuity of the activities, PM Nuestro assigned all NFA Bataan employees as Ugnayan coordinators in their respective areas and were tasked to organize a meeting with farmers in their barangays or in other areas where they personally know farmers.
The goal of the project is to reintroduce NFA’s palay procurement program to farmers and to inform them that NFA is always ready to buy their produce anytime of the year.
To kick start the program, the Ugnayan Team, led by Manager Nuestro, first visited the members and officers of Balanga Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries – Multi-purpose Cooperative (BARB-MPC) in Tuyo, Balanga City last September 22. The meeting was organized by RL Officer Febe O. Austria and her staff, Jinkee Landicho.
On September 28, the group met with individual farmers from Barangay San Pedro, Hermosa, Bataan, which was organized by AO III Evelyn Sunglao. Other Ugnayan activities will soon follow and will continue year-round.
On both meetings, Mgr. Nuestro emphasized the request to share with NFA, even just a portion of the farmers’ produce to help build the buffer stocks of NFA Bataan in preparation for any calamity. Other members of the Ugnayan Team are POO Maribeth M. Magcaling, RLO/PISO Febe O. Austria, SEIO Alex G. Batac and Acting PIO Coco P. Reyes.
