With improved facilities in Bagac, tourist arrivals increase

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Local officials and business entrepreneurs are astonished by the increasing arrivals of visitors from Metro Manila and Central Luzon provinces to more than 50 beach resorts and natures’ recreational areas located in the slope of Bataan National Park including the internationally known heritage resort, Las Casa Filipinas de Acuzar, in the coastal village of Pag-asa, this town.

Nick S. Ancheta, Bagac municipal administrator has informed Mayor Louise Gabriel Q. Del Rosario about the latest development in the local travel and tourism industry as a result of the extensive promotional and positive marketing approaches launched by the Municipal Tourism Council and the business friendly scheme introduced by the local resort owners association which significantly improved their facilities and services.

According to Ancheta, this year’s tourist arrivals is reportedly thrice the number of vacationers registered last year with the continuous programs of resort and restaurant owners and the local government authorities to diversify tourism destination sites like improvement of waterfalls and mountain trekking activities for nature lovers.

Ancheta explained that Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia has allocated provincial infrastructure development funds for road improvement in the upland villages leading to the towns’ fast improving nature destinations in Bataan and Central Luzon.

Aside from first–class beaches fronting the majestic Philippine Sea and its pristine water, the provincial and municipal governments have injected innovations like encouraging health tourism and mountain trekking in the unique natural ecological resources and environment friendly atmosphere in the forest covered Bataan National Park.

Ancheta added, about 40 kilometers of the town’s coastline are suitable for leisure and wholesome events which attract visitors to stay longer in the premier vacation spot in Central Luzon not to mention that it is a safe, enjoyable and exhilarating travel and adventure destinations.

He added the establishment of P 2 million tourism information center near the friendship tower, a well-known World War ll memorial, a stone’s throw away from the town hall has steered visitors to the logical tourist spots of the town.
