About 1,000 applicants try luck in job fair in Balanga

BALANGA City- About 1,000 applicants on Tuesday flocked the Bataan People’s Center in Balanga City to try their luck in the one-day job fair conducted by the city government.

Noriel Dacion, City Employment and Services Officer, said 27 local firms and 15 companies hiring workers for abroad participated. The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and the Freeport Area of Bataan in Mariveles were among the big establishments that joined.

Balanga City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III thanked the companies and wished the job seekers good luck.

Bataan OFWs get assistance from PESO

BALANGA CITY – The Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) and their families here are getting assistance from Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Bataan, though the office primary task is to provide employment services to the people.  

      “OFWs and their families0 here in the province with problems go to our office for assistance”, said PESO Bataan Head Melchor Cui.

          He said their office assists OFWs here in repatriation, orienting them on labor laws and rules directly affecting them, and help them against agencies that breach contract.   

          There are times that PESO Bataan thru DOLE manages to temporarily suspend operation of agencies that violate contract with OFWs here who sought their assistance.
