BALANGA City- Members of 17 bands belonging to the Bataan Musicians Society held a concert, proceeds of which were donated to victims in Leyte and Samar of super typhoon Yolanda.

Alan Bulan,  organizer of the event, said the concert had for the theme “Himig ng Pagbangon at Pag-asa” that they conducted in coordination with the Calero Bar in Balanga City.

“Kahit sa maliit na paraan ay gusto naming makatulong sa nagdurusa nating mga kababayan, the organizer said. They charged P100 as entrance fee per customer who willingly patronized the event, knowing that it was for a good cause.

“All the collections went to victims of the killer typhoon,” Bulan of HOM Acoustics said.

“It was a success!” said Khristopper Samaniego, another officer of the musicians group.

He said that the one-night concert raised P18,500. “We turned this amount plus 16 sacks of used clothes and canned goods that our members collected direct to the provincial office of the Department of Social Welfare and Development,” Samaniego said.

The Bataan Musicians Society has 12 officers and more than 80 members.
