AG&P nears plan to build Bataan plant

MANILA, Philippines – Atlantic, Gulf and Pacific Co. (AG&P) an industrial process outsourcing company, has moved a step closer in its plan to build a 2,400-megawatt power plant in Mariveles, Bataan.

This after AG&P and Philippine National Oil Co.-Alternative Fuels Corp. (PNOC-AFC) signed an agreement for the lease of the latter’s industrial lot.

“We have what we call a supplement interim lease agreement,” PNOC-AFC president Dante Canlas told reporters on the sidelines of the LNG Supply Transport & Storage Philippines 2013 Forum held yesterday.

Under the plan, AG&P will lease some 250 hectares of land in PNOC-AFC’s industrial estate in Bataan. Canlas said AG&P has given PNOC-AFC the option to take a10 percent equity in the project.

WWF Ambassadors to Grace Bataan Pawikan Festival 2013

MORONG, BATAAN-The Pawikan (sea turtles) Festival in Barangay Nagbalayong of this municipality is set on December 1, 2013 with World Wildlife Fund (WWF) ambassadors Rovilson Fernandez and Marc Nelson as special guests to grace the festivities.

The WWF advocates to build a future in which human needs are met in harmony with nature.

The annual event was organized to intensify the information campaign and generate public awareness on the importance of the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles (Lepidochelys Olivacea) in our eco-system.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) further strengthens its efforts to boost investment in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB).

Part of this effort is continuous networking with investment promotions agencies and business organizations, preparing projects designed for investment promotion and participating in local and foreign investment promotions activities.

Petron to invest RM6.2bil to expand networks and strengthen foothold in M’sia

Petron Malaysia is a unit of Philippine’s largest domestic oil player and refiner Petron, which in turn is part of San Miguel Corp.

The company operates an oil refinery in Port Dickson and a marketing business that includes a distribution network of seven terminals and over 550 retail stations nationwide.

Although Petron failed in its bid to privatise Petron Malaysia after triggering a mandatory general offer (MGO) last year, the company seems to be pumping even more capital to expand the Malaysian business acquired two years ago from ExxonMobil.

Fund Drives For ‘Yolanda’ Victims Push Through in Bataan

BALANGA CITY-The Diocese of Balanga has given to the Archdiocese of Palo in Leyte through their social action commission a sum of P200,299.50.

Bataan Bishop Ruperto Santos told newsmen in a press statement, “In this time of despair and destruction, our Diocese is one with our people in Leyte (and nearby provinces badly hit by typhoon Yolanda).We are brothers and sisters to them.”

“Constantly praying to God to give us strength to go on, and grant us His protection against calamities. With God’s grace and under His guidance we will rise, and stand up. God heals our lands. God helps us all,” Santos added.

Bataan freeport to host P300-M resort complex

Balanga City, Bataan , Philippines   – A resort development and construction conglomerate will pour an initial of P300 million for the lease and enhancement of tourism facilities in the Freeport Area of Bataan (FAB), an industrial and ecological complex in the first export processing complex in the country.

The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB), which manages the complex, and the LKY Group signed recently an agreement for project that aims to transform the industrial complex into a leisure hub and complete lifestyle community, with the objective of making the peninsula the premier-investment haven and tourist destination in the country.

New CIDG-Bataan chief named

CAMP TOLENTINO – The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG-Bataan) based here has a new provincial officer.

   Chief Inspector Ruben Tampis recently replaced Chief Inspector Melchor Cantil as the agency’s new chief following a reported series of complaints filed against the latter and some of his men.

   Tampis also served as the operations chief and assistant regional chief of CIDG Central Luzon based in Camp Olivas, Pampanga.
