Floods go down in parts of Bataan as monsoon rains abate—disaster exec

MANILA, Philippines — Floods in parts of Bataan receded on Wednesday as monsoon rains induced by Typhoon “Jose” (Halong) abated, a disaster official said.

Tess Señora, officer of Bataan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said in an interview aired on Radyo Inquirer 990AM that although waters in village of Almacen in Hermosa town were still up to three feet, the rest of the roads were passable.

PIA, DENR conduct Luzon-wide conference on climate change

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in partnership with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) will conduct a Luzon-wide conference spearheading a Climate Change Advocacy Campaign on August 13-14, 2014 at the Subic Bay Freeport Zone.

Limay, Bataan-Last August 3, 2014, the Rotary, Rotaract and Interact Clubs of Limay in partnership with Red Cross Bataan Chapter conducted the first leg of their bloodletting activity at Limay Polytechnic College. The activity is a signature project the Rotary Club of Limay family as it aims to help alleviate the insufficient supply of blood especially this rainy season with the expected rise of dengue cases.
