“Barya”- a “must have” literary folio

Habagat triggers light to heavy rains, flooding 2 villages

   HERMOSA, Bataan- The southwest monsoon or habagat enhanced by typhoon Luis triggered from light to heavy intermittent rains in most parts of Bataan Sunday afternoon till evening, causing the flooding of two barangays in Hermosa, midnight of Sunday.

BALANGA CITY, BATAAN – More than 200 Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Central Luzon recently benefited from the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) livelihood assistance program.

DOLE Regional Director Atty. Ana C. Dione said that the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Regional Welfare Office 3, under the stewardship of its director, Ma. Lourdes Reyes, released various livelihood assistance amounting to P2.09 million.

Youth tapped in climate change adaptation

CITY OF BALANGA, Bataan – With the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR’s) launching of its massive tree planting program to attain its target of reforesting more than 22,000 hectares in the Central Luzon area alone, the DENR, Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and Pilipinas Natin (PN) toured various schools, including the Bataan Peninsula State University, Bataan Heroes Memorial College  and other universities in Central Luzon in their bid to inform, inspire and involve the youth on the climate change adaptation and mitigation initiatives.

LTFRB, LTO conduct joint meeting on Mariveles bus operators appeal

MARIVELES, Bataan—The Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) and the Land Transportation Office (LTO) will hold a joint meeting anytime this week to discuss the appeal of Mariveles bus operators asking for a transition period before the implementation of the phasing out of 15 years old or older passenger buses and mini buses, according to Mariveles Councilor Angel Sunga, Chairman of the Committee on Transportation.
