Balanga City cited for using infotech in delivering services

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Just recently, the City of Balanga was one of the 10 cities cited for its excellent use of information and communication technologies in the delivery of services. These cities were chosen out of the 143 that were assessed for their information communication technology capability, technology environment and web presence maturity.

Persons with disabilities have capabilities

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Despite heavy downpour, persons with disabilities from all over the Province yesterday trooped to the Bataan People’s Center to participate in this year’s observance of the National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NPDR) Week.

Under Proclamation No. 1870 the NPDR Week is celebrated annually, every third week of July that aims to conduct relevant activities for persons with disabilities (PWDs).

223 students received financial assistance under ESGP-PA

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In his message this morning during the awarding of financial assistance to 223 BPSU student-beneficiaries of the Expanded Students’ Grant-in-Aid Program for Poverty Alleviation (ESGP-PA), Gov. Abet S. Garcia reiterated his satisfaction over the Province’s topping the estimated Special Education Fund (SEF) revenue per public school student for 2013, nationwide and at the same time reminded the students to focus on their studies.

Phil. Bamboo Foundation leads reforestation project

LIMAY, Bataan – Last July 19, the Philippine Bamboo Foundation, led by its President Edgardo C. Manda conducted an ocular inspection in Brgy. Alangan of this town. In close collaboration with the Municipal Government of Limay and Petron, they will plant bamboo in the almost 300 hectare lot in the said barangay.

On-going relief operations, province wide

CAPITOL COMPOUND, Bataan – In his earnest desire to alleviate the devastating effect of Typhoon Glenda to the affected residents, as early as July 16, Governor Abet Garcia immediately ordered the distribution of relief goods through the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Mrs. Marilyn Tigas to the people affected by Typhoon Glenda. Former Pilar Mayor, Charlie Pizarro, now MBDA Chairman is also closely coordinating the operations together with PNP personnel and respective barangay officials.
