Hindi pa lubusang “red tide free” ang Bataan

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Bagama’t isang bayan na lamang ang positibo sa red tide toxin, hindi pa rin maituturing na “red tide free” na ang buong lalawigan ng Bataan.

Kinumpirma ni Department of Agriculture Chief Imelda Inieto na sa 11 bayan at isang lungsod ng Bataan, ang karagatan ng bayan ng Samal na lamang ang positibo sa red tide toxin.

2013 Most Outstanding Municipality,nakamit ng Morong

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Dahil sa matagumpay  at epektibong pagpapatupad ng mga programang pangnutrisyon, itinanghal ang bayan ng Morong bilang 2013 Most Outstanding Municipality in the Province, na siyang  tumapos sa tatlong sunod na taong pamamayagpag ng bayan ng  Bagac.

Ayon kay PHO chief Dr. Rosanna Buccahan, layunin ng isinagawang ebalwasyon sa mga bayan na suriin ang kahusayan ng mga planong pangnutrisyon sa pamamagitan ng mga proyektong nagawa at sa suporta na rin ng mga lokal na pinuno at ibang ahensya. Isa pang batayan para makamit ang parangal ay ang pag-inam ng timbang ng mga preschool at school children sa evaluation year at sa nakalipas na dalawang taon.

Pilar conducts ICS Training

PILAR, Bataan – The Municipality of Pilar headed by Mayor Alicia D. Pizarro conducted a Basic/ Intermediate Incident Command System (ICS) Training last July 29-31 at the Mansion Garden Hotel in Subic among the members of Pilar Municipal Disaster and Risk Reduction Council (MDRRC) and all the punong barangays of said town.

Taiwanese firm set to open in Hermosa Ecozone

   HERMOSA, Bataan – Around 700 new jobs are set to be available inside the Hermosa Ecozone and Industrial Park (HEIP) when the Taiwanese firm, Biotech Medical opens early next year.

   To date, 36 employees from Bataan were already hired by Biotech and are currently undergoing an on-the-job training in Taiwan. After the training, around 250 first batch of employees will be hired and trained.

Aid for Glenda victims set for Samal and Mariveles towns

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan — Two local chief executives in this Province confirmed to local newsmen here that they are scheduled to give financial assistance to typhoon Glenda victims particularly those who lost their houses.

   Last Thursday, Mariveles town Mayor Jesse Concepcion told local newsmen here that they are planning to give P3,000 to P5,000 pesos per family whose houses were totally damaged.

Morong Mayor wants DOLE to act on resort employees’ wages

   MORONG, Bataan –  The Sangguniang Bayan (SB) of Morong, a 4th class municipality of this Province is investigating reports that beach resort owners here are not complying with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) minimum wage law for their workers. Based on municipal government records, there are more than a hundred resorts in this town but only 47 are registered.

Earthquake at fire drills ginanap sa BPSU

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Ginanap ngayong Lunes, ika-28 ng Hulyo ang earthquake at fire drills sa main campus ng Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) sa Lungsod na ito.

Nilahukan ng mga guro, kawani at estudyante ng pinakamalaking unibersidad sa Bataan, ang pagsasanay ay pinangunahan ng Provincial Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) sa ilalim ni Gng. Tess Senora. Tumulong din sa nasabing pagsasanay ang Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Bataan Rescue at iba pang mga ahensya ng pamahalaan.
