AboitizPower empowers future leaders in 3rd Scholars Development Convergence

AboitizPower Corporation (AboitizPower) through GNPower Mariveles Energy Center Ltd. Co. (GMEC) and GNPower Dinginin Ltd. Co. (GNPD) brought together 130 scholars for the Scholars Development Convergence Year 3 held on October 1 and 2 at La Vista Inland Resort in Balanga City, Bataan.

The two-day formation program underscored the strong commitment of AboitizPower to nation-building through education with Mr. Rommel Arellano as main facilitator.

AboitizPower GNPD MEC Reputation and Stakeholder Management (RSM) Manager Jeps Mendoza said, guided by the GMEC–GNPD Scholarship Program’s vision of “Building the Future Today,” this year’s event is anchored on the theme: “Honoring Our Roots, Empowering Our Future: Understanding Purpose, Impact, and Service.”

Formation sessions of the convergence are anchored on four key areas:

Knowing and Appreciating AboitizPower (Power101)
Scholars were introduced to the mission, vision, and core values of AboitizPower, along with a basic understanding of coal-fired power plant operations. Speakers included JK Huyatid, Bhee Jay Layug, Harianne Vitug, and Andrea Mellinda Madrid.

My Purpose
Participants reflected on the meaning of being an AboitizPower scholar, highlighting personal responsibility, gratitude, and commitment.

Seizing Opportunity
Alumni and senior scholars shared inspiring stories on how the scholarship served as a catalyst for their growth, transformation, and sense of purpose.

Mental Health
This session focused on self-care and wellness, equipping scholars with tools to maintain emotional resilience and mental clarity.

By the end of the program, scholars demonstrated a deeper understanding of the scholarship’s mission and values.

Mendoza pointed out AboitizPower continues to invest in the holistic development of future leaders, empowering scholars to make a positive impact in their communities and the nation.
