At the forefront of the fight against smoking

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The multi-awarded  component  city of the province , who has already attained a Hall of fame status  in the  Department of Health (DOH) Red Orchid Awards is at the forefront of Bataan’s campaign against smoking .

Speaking  before  some 100 delegates mostly medical practitioners  and  local government officials  from  the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN)  at  the Justice Cayetano Arellano hall, The Plaza Hotel in this City. Governor Albert Raymond S. Garcia  yesterday stressed that the provincial government has  already created a Smoke-Free Task Force for the implementation of a provincial ordinance banning smoking, approved last year.

50 ASEAN delegates attend 2nd smoke–free workshop in Bataan

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan – About 50 delegates from the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) are expected to arrive here today (August 26) to attend a-three day  2nd Smoke-Free Cities regional workshop  .

   City Mayor Jose Enrique S. Garcia lll yesterday said the 3-day seminar workshop from August 26-28, 2014 was organized by the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA) whose mission is to work together to save lives by accelerating the effective implementation of programs and policies towards a healthy tobacco free ASEAN countries.

P100 million budget for the widening of Bataan expressway mulled

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Newly-appointed Metro Bataan Development Authority (MBDA) Chairman Charlie Pizarro has disclosed that the national government is allocating P 100 million for the widening of the Bataan Expressway next year.

Chairman Pizarro described the other day that the road widening project starting from Barangay Balsik, Hermosa  town  near the Pampanga-Bataan boundary to the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan(AFAB) in the industrial town of Mariveles  as another highlight in the socio-economic  development  program of  the province  with the expected  arrival  of foreign and local  industrial investors in the five ecozones within the historic peninsula.
