Hundreds of jobseekers in the province are now a step closer to a new career after participating in the first-ever virtual job fair organized by the Bataan Public Employment Service Office (PESO) last May 21-24, 2021.
According to PESO Manager Melchor Cui, a total of 3,456 applications were submitted and received by 39 participating local and overseas employers who offered more than a thousand job vacancies during the said event.
Out of that number, 669 applicants qualified and are now waiting for their interview or examination while 129 applicants just need to undergo final assessment. As of May 25, about 1,564 applications are or awaiting responses from employers.
The entire application process was done online in compliance with the existing social gathering restrictions amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Prior to this, PESO conducted pre-event activities such as Online Skills Demonstration, Pre-Employment Orientation Webinar and Webinar on Illegal Recruitment in collaboration with various national government agencies.
With the theme Manggagawa at Mamamayan: Babangon, Susulong!, the weeklong event was made possible in partnership with the Department of Labor and Employment thru the Vantagehunt website where registration and application were made accessible to applicants.
Jobseekers may still browse job vacancies in the province by visiting hotjobsbataan.com or by calling the PESO Contact Center for job matching. Contact details are posted on the official Facebook account of PESO Capitol Bataan.
