The Balanga City government through the leadership tandem of Mayor Francis Garcia and Vice Mayor Vianca Venzon-Gonzon has distributed vegetable seeds/seedlings to community farmers here.
“Isa sa pangunahing programa ng ating mahal na Mayor Francis Garcia ay maseguro ang kasapatan sa pagkain (food security) ng bawat pamilyang Balangueno lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya”, said the city agriculture office.
“Kaya tuluy-tuloy nating isinasagawa ang pamimigay ng libreng mga buto ng gulay at punla para sa ating mga kababayang nais magtanim sa kani-kanilang mga bakuran at bakanteng lote”, it also said.
The city government in fact launched a program feting community farmers dubbed “Farmer of the Week”.
Garcia and Vice Venzon-Gozon want to recognize the contribution of local farmers to community development and inspire local residents to go into farming.
The tandem is pushing for agricultural development in the city. Members of Sangguniang Panlungsod are fully supporting the city agricultural program.
