First FAB Film Festival Premier Night

The first-ever FAB Film Festival (FFF)  organized by the Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) in partnership with the BTN Association  held its Premier Night on Tuesday.

The event  took place at the AFAB Administration Building in Mariveles where ten short  films were screened simultaneously.

Before the screening, AFAB and BTN officials led a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the exhibit showcasing the official posters of the featured films.

In his message, AFAB Administrator and CEO Hussein Pangandaman underscored that the Freeport is not only a center for production and business but also a space for creative expression.

“The spirit of FAB lives in everyone who knows how to create and build. In every product, service, or idea born here, the excellence and dedication of the people also shine through,” he said.

The event was also attended by members of the AFAB Management Team, including Deputy Administrator for Support Services Ma. Lourdes Herrera, Deputy Administrator for Operations Atty. Michael Angelo Paderanga, Office of the Administrator Group Head Atty. Percival Peralta, and Chief of Staff Augusto Kimpo.

Here are the ten original short films by talented local directors and production teams:

  2. Daluyong by Erwin Jericho Arceo (Sine Kundiman)
  3. Maiba Taya by Emir Canlas (EC Films)
  4. Tayo sa Dilim by Satoru Corilla (BlueSky Productions)
  5. Kubli by Billy Oyanib (One Man Films)
  6. Isang Kilo by Jeyk Esperanza (Obra Production)
  7. Tagahulo by Lemmor Miguel Vitug (Cinemmon Films)
  8. As If We Never Left by Marvin Rei Panes (Nostalgia Cartel)
  9. Resume by Michael Angelo Cervantes (CAMAC Production)
  10. Kuwentong Multo by Dexter Paul De Jesus (Ciete Cinco Creatives)

The panel of judges included acclaimed director Joel Ferrer, who lauded the creativity and sincerity shown  in the films.

“I could really feel the heart in these films. I hope this festival continues to grow and opens more opportunities for local filmmakers,” Ferrer said.
