Morong, Bataan officials thank the Garcias for the twin major projects in their town.

The groundbreaking of Morong District Hospital in Brgy. Sabang was recently held spearheaded by Senator Joel Villanueva and joined by Bataan Gov. Joet Garcia, Bataan 3rd District Congresswoman Gila Garcia, and local officials. The senator provided the initial fund. The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 7th Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU) campus also in Sabang was held in March, this year.

The two projects are located in the same area.

Congresswoman Garcia earlier said for the first year P50 million will be spent for the district hospital project and the next year P100 million. For the third year, she said her office will seek another P150 million from sources like the Department of Health and senators. The lady solon said she pushes for the project to provide accessible and quality healthcare services to local residents. The three-floor hospital with a 73-bed capacity will provide general medicine, laboratory tests and operating, delivery and support services. It will rise from 12,421 square meters of land.

Meanwhile, the BPSU campus is seen to provide opportunities to poor students in Morong to finish college. The campus will house the College of Agriculture and be the academic center of agroforestry and tourism in the province, said university officials.
