The municipal government of Orion awaits the approval of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) on its incinerator plant for its waste management plan.

Orion Vice Mayor Rex John Fuster said Mayor Tonypep Raymundo had been negotiating with the DENR for the approval of thermal waste management technology introduced by an interested investor.

“The investor who introduced and had offered the said technology has yet to prove that it is viable and approved by the government,” Vice Mayor Fuster said.

He pointed out that the firm who offered the technology would not get paid unless the DENR endorses the technology.
But once it is approved by the DENR, “baka yung ibang munisipyo sa amin na magtatapon ng kanilang basura,” said Fuster.
The municipal government has developed a two-hectare land in Barangay Gen. Lim for the waste management site.
