Ever heard of radio broadcasting instruction or teachers on air?
Yes folks, you can hear it now at least over Radyo Magsaysay 99.3 FM emanating from Magsaysay National High School (MNHS) in Barangay Magsaysay, Dinalupihan.
The radio broadcasting instruction (RBI) will reach out to high school students in the said barangay and other adjacent villages that could be reached by the radio signal through cellphones or directly from transistor radio with FM band.
Dr. Aida Capili, school principal of MNHS, initiated the putting up of the community radio station “to further strengthen the alternative learning modality in this time of pandemic.”
Capili said she first brought the idea of RBI when she was the principal of Hermosa National High School Annex in Hermosa. “We need to find ways in reaching our students,” she said.
Radyo Magsaysay’s target audience are students within the barangay and other remote villages of Dinalupihan. “So we plan to distribute transistor radio sets to poor students who cannot afford to buy one,” said Capili.
The inaugural broadcast was held last January 29 with Dinalupihan Mayor Gilar Garcia as the guest of honor. Top educators of Bataan and other local officials graced the affair and witnessed how the RBI works. “Sa unang broadcast, malayo naman po ang nararating,” said Capili.
Capili said teachers are now undergoing seminar in radio broadcasting so they can handle the radio program “Teachers On Air.”
