First District Board Member Tony Boy Roman said traveling along Roman Highway is now safer with the implementation of “Keep Right Except to Overtake Ordinance”, which he co-authored.
The ordinance mandates slow-moving vehicles in Roman Highway to use the right lane except when overtaking, making a left turn in an intersection, or avoiding a road obstacle. The Metro Bataan Development Authority has started enforcing the ordinance upon order of Gov. Joet Garcia.
Earlier, author and sponsor Board Member Popoy Del Rosario and Roman in presenting the ordinance emphasized the importance of road safety to protect lives and limbs. They urged motorists to strictly heed the ordinance. “Tama lamang tumabi sa kanan para paraanin ang mas mabilis na sasakyan. Iwas traffic, iwas disgrasya,” Roman said. The Sangguniang Panlalawigan unanimously passed the ordinance presided by Vice Gov. Cris Garcia.
