In support to the online learning modality of the Department of Education (DepEd), 107 Special Education (SPED) learners from Balanga Elementary School (BES) received today a tablet each donated by a Rizal-based fashion designer.

During the distribution proper held at City of Balanga National High School, DepEd Balanga Curriculum Implementation Division Chief Dr. Merlinda Tablan expressed her gratitude to Mr. Rey Michael Leyva for his act of kindness to support students with visual and hearing impairments, including learners with cerebral palsy and other learning disabilities.
“Itong mga binigay sa atin ni Sir Michael na mga tablets ay ating pagyamanin. Gamitin natin ito nang maayos para talagang maipagpatuloy ang edukasyon ng ating mga anak,” Tablan said to parents who personally received the brand new devices.

Also, BES Principal Amelia Inieto stressed that the devices will be a huge contribution to the online and blended learning of their SPED pupils as face-to-face classes are still prohibited this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The donated device has a seven-inch display with a 1.4GHz Quad-Core, 5MP rear and 2MP front camera, 16GB ROM and 1GB RAM.
