AFAB supports anti-dengue drive

   MARIVELES, Bataan – The Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) through its Community Services Department assisted an elementary school here in its mosquito fogging activities to help secure a healthy and safe environment for students.

   AFAB Enterprise Services Officers Francis Anthony Emata and Kelvin Rodriguez; Senior Industrial Relations Officer Menchie Sanchez and four other AFAB officers assisted the teachers and students of the Renato Cayetano Elementary School in Barangay Maligaya in the fogging operation.

Watershed tree planting

  ORANI, Bataan -The Orani Water District (OWD) conducted a tree-planting activity at the Orani Water District Watershed Area Bataan Natural Park last Saturday, aptly dubbed as Watershed Tree Planting.

  “We have targeted 10,000 Tibig trees for this year”, said OWD General Manager Benny Andres who led the planting activity. The official also explained that Tibig tree holds more water compared to other species. They have already planted 20,000 tibig trees in the area for the past two years.

Tibig, Mendoza appointed members of BPSU Board of Regents

 BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Two well-known private individuals here were appointed members of the Board of Regents of the Bataan Peninsula State University (BPSU).

          Ruperto S. Sangalang, CHED Commissioner and Chairman of BPSU Board of Regents signed the appointment of global entrepreneur speaker Paulo Tibig and insurance company CEO Rex Mendoza representing the private sector.

Lots to be distributed in Lamao soon

   LAMAO, Bataan— Restituto “Bart” Reyes, Punong Barangay of Lamao, said that about 400 deserving families will be the beneficiaries of lots in his barangay, titles of which will be distributed very soon. 

   He said some concerns from few beneficiaries are just being ironed out to finally distribute the titles of lots. While the captain did not give a specific date, the distribution is expected within a couple of months.   

S &T interventions pushed to empower farmers

   BALANGA CITY—The government thru the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is strongly pushing for science and technology interventions to empower farmers.

   The Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (PCAARRD) of the DOST is supporting and guiding the implementation of Science & Technology Community-Based Farm (STCBF) for different commodities in the country.

Free WiFi in Limay

   LIMAY, Bataan —The local government of Limay is offering free WiFi  services in almost all areas of the municipality.  “Mayor Ver wants all areas of Limay covered by the free WiFi”, Yolanda Paulo, Provincial Directress of peace-keeping group Police Hotline Movement Incorporated (PHMI) said in vernacular.  “I myself as leader of the peace-keeping group in the Province is benefiting from this free WiFi since I regularly post in my Facebook account for updates and announcements”, added Paulo, a resident of Barangay Townsite, this Town.

PARO leads 2 DAR units equally, same fervor

   ABUCAY, Bataan— Bataan Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer (PARO) Engr. Eric San Luis who is also assigned to head the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) Zambales has pointed out that he is leading the two DAR units equally and with the same fervor of service.

   “Definitely I am not considering DAR Zambales as a mere satellite office assigned to me”, stressed San Luis who headed the Zambales unit last year.
