Bataan Tourism Office conducts creative forum

As part of the National Arts Month celebration, the Provincial Tourism Office held the “Malikhaing Forum ng Sining Pinoy” last February 20 at the Bataan Tourism Pavilion in Balanga City.
The whole-day creative forum gathered Special Program in the Arts (SPA) teachers, strengthening a shared space for professional exchange, collaboration, and stronger support for arts education across the province. The activity highlighted the role of educators in molding young artists while establishing connection with practicing creatives who can offer practical guidance in the field.
Hon. Popoy Del Rosario graced the event, reinforcing the forum’s focus on strengthening arts education and recognizing the role of local creatives in mentoring the next generation of Bataeño artists.
Resource speakers were Bataan creatives with national and international experiences: theater director and actor Carlos “Bong” Ramos, writer Ara Jenika C. Vinzon, visual artist and film maker Nilo Parrilla, and music producer – educator Dr. Gabriel Jessie T. Guevarra. They shared insights on developing artistic discipline, creating original work rooted in identity and culture, and navigating opportunities for young artists and arts educators. Their discussions emphasized how local talent can be nurtured and sustained through school and community support.
The forum is part of Bataan’s line-up of activities for the National Arts Month celebration that include an outreach performance, a sketching competition and exhibit, culminating with a music video awards night.
