Gov. Abet gets highest rating

In a scale of ten with 10 being the highest, the National IATF, gave Gov. Abet Garcia a rating of 10. Dr. Maria Lacsamana an official of National IATF cited Gov. Abet’s accomplishments and leadership in combatting COVID-19.

They said that Gov. Garcia was able to address the spike of COVID-19 cases in the province in a matter of weeks and was able to bring down the number of cases to as low as 300, which is way below compared to many places in the country.

National Chief Implementer, Sec Carlito Galvez Jr., also lauded the unique programs of the province such as the Kusina sa Barangay, zero hospital billing, Kindness Station of Mariveles, saying he could bring these to their IATF meetings and recommend it to be replicated in other areas where COVID-19 cases thrive.

Sec. Galvez reiterated that the President would like to open up the economy, adding that they’ve been sent to different provinces to help and view the situation of their COVID-19 cases, adding that the President no longer approved long lockdown strategy, only granular, adding that we should now learn how to live with the virus, that is, to be brave to dance with it.

Galvez likewise said that he always explained that 85% of the prevention is in our hands, that we can beat the virus as long as we obey the minimum health standards, discipline, and obey the authorities. He made mention of himself being exposed to the dangers of contacting the dreaded disease, but having his immune system strengthened, he said, we can beat the virus, if we can protect ourselves.
