“Maraming salamat po sa paglalaan ng lote at sisiguraduhin po natin na matatayo kaagad ang malasakit building dyan sa inyong compound” Senator Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go said during the official opening of the 112th Malasakit Center in the country and the second in the Province of Bataan located at the Mariveles Mental Wellness and General Hospital (MMWGH) compound yesterday, May 18.

After the opening of the center, MMWGH Chief of Hospital Dr. Lou Evangelista showed Senator Bong Go and other officials a vacant lot inside the hospital compound that can be the site for a bigger malasakit center.
“Sa ganitong paraan, mas mailalapit po ang tulong sa mga kababayang nagkakasakit. Thank you very much Senator Bong Go sa lahat ng inyong itinutulong sa Lalawigan ng Bataan,” Governor Abet Garcia stated as he thanked the senator for easing the process of availing medical assistance for Bataeños.
Towards the end of the event, Sen. Bong Go provided lunch for all MMWGH front liners and patients, grocery packs, face masks, face shields, and vitamins. Bicycles, computer tablets, and shoes were also given to select beneficiaries.

Signed into law by President Rodrigo Duterte, Malasakit Center is a One-Stop-Shop which aims to help indigent patients in government hospitals avail of financial support from agencies such as PhilHealth, Department of Health, Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and other offices to avoid tedious processes and redundancy of requirements attaining zero-balance billing for Filipinos in need of medical care.
Office of the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas (OPAV) Secretary Michael Dino, Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo, Congressman Joet Garcia, Mayor Jocelyn Castañeda, Mayor Gila Garcia and national/local government officials attended said event.
