Mga putol na kahoy, natunton sa dagat ng Bagac

BAGAC, Bataan – Umaabot sa 800 board feet ang sukat ng mga kahoy na natunton ng mga tauhan ng Bagac Municipal Police Station na nakalubog sa karagatang sakop ng Barangay Paysawan ng bayang ito nitong nagdaang linggo.

Batay sa imbestigasyon, isang concerned citizen ang nag tip ukol dito. Sinisid umano ng mga tauhan ng pulisya sa pamumuno ng kanilang hepe na si P/Chief Insp. Jaafar ang nasabing lugar at nakita nila ang nakasalansan na mga kahoy.

Floods go down in parts of Bataan as monsoon rains abate—disaster exec

MANILA, Philippines — Floods in parts of Bataan receded on Wednesday as monsoon rains induced by Typhoon “Jose” (Halong) abated, a disaster official said.

Tess Señora, officer of Bataan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said in an interview aired on Radyo Inquirer 990AM that although waters in village of Almacen in Hermosa town were still up to three feet, the rest of the roads were passable.

PIA, DENR conduct Luzon-wide conference on climate change

P55M for Pilar flood-control projects

PILAR, Bataan — The national government has allotted P55 million for various flood-control projects in this 3rd-class municipality.

Mayor Alice Pizarro, in a press briefing last Tuesday afternoon, said the fund will be used for the construction of a dike that started last month. Pizarro said she expects that when the said project is completed, the flood-prone barangays (villages) here namely Nagwaling, Panilao, Alauli, and portions of Poblacion and Del Rosario will greatly benefit from it.

PEO to undertake declogging of silted rivers in Dinalupihan and Hermosa towns

The Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) is undertaking declogging  of heavily silted rivers and tributaries in the two flood prone northern Bataan towns.

Engineer Enrico Yuson, PEO Head  identified the three major rivers in Hermosa and  Dinalupihan towns as Almacen, Caulaman and Layac as the priority projects this rainy season  since flooding cannot be avoided due to denuded forests in the mountain ranges in Zambales, Bataan and Pampanga .
