Youth tapped in climate change adaptation

CITY OF BALANGA, Bataan – With the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ (DENR’s) launching of its massive tree planting program to attain its target of reforesting more than 22,000 hectares in the Central Luzon area alone, the DENR, Philippine Information Agency (PIA), and Pilipinas Natin (PN) toured various schools, including the Bataan Peninsula State University, Bataan Heroes Memorial College  and other universities in Central Luzon in their bid to inform, inspire and involve the youth on the climate change adaptation and mitigation initiatives.

Do not ignore checkpoints-PNP

Bataan has new CIDG-CIS leaders

   MARIVELES, Bataan- The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Community Investigative Support (CIDG-CIS), the civilian intelligence group of the PNP- CIDG, has a new president in the person of Al Balan, a native of this town.

   A respected businessman, Balan will take his oath as the new leader of the CIDG-CIS for Bataan come August 29, to be officiated personally by Party list Rep. Sammuel Pagdilao, the founder of the CIDG-CIS when he was the director of CIDG.

Poultry farm owners warned closure for swarm of flies

PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, Bataan – Provincial officials yesterday warned poultry farm owners of the possible closure of their poultry farms if they continue to ignore warnings against the swarm of flies in the province.

Board member Gaudencio Ferrer said they had already issued the warning after the public complained about the proliferation of flies pestering residents in host communities. Poultry farm owners can easily contain the flies if they want to since they are well-financed by their financiers, newsmen learned.

Balanga COP sent to Libya to assist distressed OFWs

CAMP TOLENTINO, Bataan – Supt. Joshua Alejandro, Chief of Police of Balanga City, left the other day for Libya to assist Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) trapped in the war-torn country.

This was learned from Sr. Supt. Flynn E. Dongbo, PNP director, who said that Col. Alejandro’s assistance was sought by the Department of Foreign Affairs in the repatriation of the 11,000 OFWs still trapped in Libya.

Mariveles, Most PWD-Friendly Municipality

BALANGA CITY, Bataan –  Daan-daang mga taong may kapansanan o persons with disability (PWD) sa lalawigang ito ang nagpakita ng kani-kanilang mga talento sa  Bataan People’s Center  bilang bahagi ng 36th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week.

Kasabay sa pagdiriwang na ito, pinarangalan ang bayan ng Mariveles bilang unang PWD-friendly municipality na inorganisa ng Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office at ng Provincial Council on Disability Affairs.
