Marcos considers education as real solution to country’s problems

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – Senator Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. on Friday batted for an educated populace, considering education as real solution to the country’s problems.

The young Marcos was guest during the Education Summit in Balanga City and administered oath to presidents and other officers of Parents-Teachers Associations in elementary schools in the city. Gov. Albert Raymond Garcia and brother Balanga City Mayor Jose Enrique Garcia III led in welcoming the senator.

ABET team goes full blast on smoke free ordinance

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In its earnest desire to fully implement the Province’s smoke free ordinance, the ABET (Alis Bisyo Eliminate Tobacco) Team held its first meeting for 2014 with the Provincial Smoke Free Task Force last July 14 at the Maternal and Child Health Conference Room of the Provincial Health Office (PHO), this City.

Presided by Dr. Rosanna M. Buccahan, PHO Head, said meeting was well attended by the different Provincial Smoke Free Task Force member agencies namely, DILG, Provincial HRMO, PEO, Provincial Legal Office, PIO, Provincial Treasurer, PGENRO, DEPED, PNP, BACFETODA and League of Municipalities.

PHO goes all out on eradicating TB cases in Bataan

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Department of Health’s National Tuberculosis Control Program (NTP) in collaboration with the Innovations and Multisectoral Partnerships to Achieve Control of TB (IMPACT) Project aims to improve TB case detection and achieve successful treatment of all cases.

In this connection, the Provincial Health Office of Bataan together with the Balanga City Health Office has been conducting trainings on Interpersonal Communication and Counselling (IPCC), aimed at enhancing the counseling competencies of our local health workers in the care of TB clients. Participants to this series of trainings are NTP nurse coordinators, midwives and barangay health workers from Bataan’s Rural Health Units.

Floods go down in parts of Bataan as monsoon rains abate—disaster exec

MANILA, Philippines — Floods in parts of Bataan receded on Wednesday as monsoon rains induced by Typhoon “Jose” (Halong) abated, a disaster official said.

Tess Señora, officer of Bataan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, said in an interview aired on Radyo Inquirer 990AM that although waters in village of Almacen in Hermosa town were still up to three feet, the rest of the roads were passable.

PIA, DENR conduct Luzon-wide conference on climate change

Limay, Bataan-Last August 3, 2014, the Rotary, Rotaract and Interact Clubs of Limay in partnership with Red Cross Bataan Chapter conducted the first leg of their bloodletting activity at Limay Polytechnic College. The activity is a signature project the Rotary Club of Limay family as it aims to help alleviate the insufficient supply of blood especially this rainy season with the expected rise of dengue cases.

Bataan PCWC gears for children’s month 2014

BALANGA CITY, Bataan — The Provincial Council for the Welfare of Children (PCWC) held a meeting at the Capitol compound Wednesday morning and discussed the various technical assistance programs it will provide to the 11 towns and one component city of this Province.
