“Huwag maging SAD” campaign launched

High school students plant trees along main road

   PILAR, Bataan – About 70 students of Pablo Roman National High School together with volunteers in this town planted more than 500 tree seedlings along the Joaquin Linao Road in this town on Friday, said Araling Panlipunan (AP) teacher and Club Adviser John Dean Regondola.

50 ASEAN delegates attend 2nd smoke–free workshop in Bataan

   BALANGA CITY, Bataan – About 50 delegates from the Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) are expected to arrive here today (August 26) to attend a-three day  2nd Smoke-Free Cities regional workshop  .

   City Mayor Jose Enrique S. Garcia lll yesterday said the 3-day seminar workshop from August 26-28, 2014 was organized by the Southeast Asia Tobacco Control Alliance (SEATCA) whose mission is to work together to save lives by accelerating the effective implementation of programs and policies towards a healthy tobacco free ASEAN countries.

Bataan has new CIDG-CIS leaders

   MARIVELES, Bataan- The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Community Investigative Support (CIDG-CIS), the civilian intelligence group of the PNP- CIDG, has a new president in the person of Al Balan, a native of this town.

   A respected businessman, Balan will take his oath as the new leader of the CIDG-CIS for Bataan come August 29, to be officiated personally by Party list Rep. Sammuel Pagdilao, the founder of the CIDG-CIS when he was the director of CIDG.

Bataan PHO averts spread of dengue

BALANGA CITY, Bataan – In its bid to strengthen the core capacities for disease surveillance and response to avert the occurrence and international spread of diseases and other public health threats, as required by the World Health Organization among all Member States, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Bataan approved a resolution institutionalizing and strengthening the Bataan Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (PESU) at the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

Poultry farm owners warned closure for swarm of flies

PROVINCIAL CAPITOL, Bataan – Provincial officials yesterday warned poultry farm owners of the possible closure of their poultry farms if they continue to ignore warnings against the swarm of flies in the province.

Board member Gaudencio Ferrer said they had already issued the warning after the public complained about the proliferation of flies pestering residents in host communities. Poultry farm owners can easily contain the flies if they want to since they are well-financed by their financiers, newsmen learned.
